You stared like I was a ghost of me
Unholy, out of time
Embedded in your strained belief
Does it even cross your mind?
I can’t say goodbye
And I’ve known you for a while
Known you for a while now
Wild strange new words until the morning
New words until the morning now
And then I had the strength to speak
Unfrozen, I took my time
It’s the best you could expect from me
Still I won’t change your mind
But I can’t say goodbye
Silent in truth and denial
In truth and denial, now
Sighed retorts stick in the doorway
They get stuck in the doorway, now
And I’ve known you for a while
Known you for a while now
So spare us both the feigned relief
Oh please, we’ve still got time
To wake up from this deafening dream
I’ll take yours if you take mine
I won’t say goodbye

Intimate and unique. This album plays well with a bottle of Syrah crunched up in your finest pair of headphones with candles lit in a steamy bubble bath. sig
Written as she was coping with an auto-immune disease, the new EP from Rachel Angel offers hushed, silvery ’50s-style Americana. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 23, 2020

Julie’s songwriting is truly transcendent. There isn’t much music that can touch the level of emotional resonance she is able to reach. She never dumbs down her lyrical sensibilities to increase popularity. The arrangements here are more complex, yet also more ethereal, than those on Not Even Happiness. If there is a perfect album, The Greater Wings may be it. That’s coming from a metal fan. Metallurgical Fire
