A Better Joke

Man, I could use a better joke
I bit a bit too much and I choked
My gold tooth in the apple core
I coughed it up expecting something worse
Man, what's the use in a metaphor
When you're beggin' to break down the door
The one that's silvery 'neath the ocean floor
My god, we're drowning in a sea of words
Sun broke down on the Great Lake shore
Sky cracked and the ground got torn
And the fountain pitched the tethers over
Now you can swing or get swallowed whole
Death wants it clean
But the spidery ring
Of glowing string
Is creepin' out
You feel that line on your skin
You feel that line on your skin
You feel that line on your skin
And all that circles 'round you is trying to let you in
On a beginning
You got me spooked I ain't letting go
I'm flying inward outward all at once
Can't arrive where you cannot go
But I can see it shining way up close
It's not a high it's not a low
It's not the secret to eternal love
It's not a rest, it's not a home
But I will take it before it's gone
And death wants it clean
But the spidery ring
Of glowing string
Is creepin' out
You feel that line on your skin
You feel that line on your skin
You feel that line on your skin
And all that circles 'round you is trying to let you in
On a beginning
On a beginning
It's all beginning
